Eee PC Mod: Carputer
October 23rd, 2008 by K. T. Bradford Almost the instant people got their hands on the first batch of Eee PCs, dozens of intrepid modders took off the cover and started to tinker with it. Most of them were looking to add functionality that didn’t exist in the 700 series–like Bluetooth–or more storage.
That’s just the tip of the netbook mod iceberg, as a Russian Eee PC owner proved. He integrated it into his car dashboard, creating one sweet GPS-enabled Bluetooth media player (with wireless keyboard in the glove compartment). That’s pretty geeky… and pretty awesome, I have to admit.
I’m actually kind of curious to know what other mods have been done with netbooks — both extreme and stuff less tech-inclined people can do.
