Does anyone know if there are any newer models with a softer keyboard (meaning you have to press LESS hard to make keystrokes)?

I LOVE my Eee PC, but it hurts my hands after awhile to have to press so hard.

I own a white eeePC 901 and feel disapointed about the keyboard.
It would be usable if I did not get duplicated keystrokes while writing normally. This happens quite often and it is very annoying. It does not seem related with any particular key (would affect the 'a', 's', 'm', 'enter', etc...)

I bought the black one, because the white one reminds me too much to an iBook (or whatever Apple calls it’s laptops now). And my point of view is: If you want to get an Apple computer, buy one! Pretending to have one by using operating system skins that turn the look of your OS into MacOS or by using hardware, that look like it comes from Apple is ridiculous :)

I’m happy with y black Eee 1000H

Thanks for the informative article. I'm conteplating a 900 model and, from the sound of it, would definitely prefer the black plastic keyboard. Thanks for taking the time to describe what some may think "minutia."

So, it WASN'T my imagination after all when I noticed this at J&R.

Also, I noticed that the keys tend to get off-kilter, making looking at the keyboard a dizzying experience. This is pronounced with the white keyboard, not so much with the black.
