Dell Pulls the Plug on Ultra-Thin Adamo Line

Sources have told CNET that the Dell Adamo line of ultra-thin laptops will be discontinued.

The Adamo debuted in March 2009 with a price of $2,000. With a 0.65-inch body, Intel Core 2 Duo processors, and aluminum casing, it was a natural competitor to the super-thin MacBook Air. Before ultimately pulling the plug on the line, Dell offered the Adamo series at considerable discounts, with the latest laptops going for as low as $799.

We gave the Adamo line favorable reviews, even declaring the 0.39-inch thin Dell Adamo XPS the sexiest laptop ever. If you shared our enthusiasm for the system’s innovative design and strong performance, you’ll be happy to hear that CNET’s source is reporting that the Adamo brand’s aesthetics will live on in an upcoming design for one of Dell’s consumer brand lines. And if you’re not ready to say goodbye, you can still swipe up a refurbished 13-inch Adamo for as low as $759.
