D-Link’s SideStage Mini-Monitor Gives Every Notebook a Secondary Display

Small secondary displays for laptops are the latest trend;  just look at the ThinkPad W700ds and the Fujitsu N7010. And now D-Link is making it easy enough for current laptop users to add a mobile mini-monitor with the SideStage. Designed for multitasking and notebook users who prefer to save their main laptop screen for viewing applications and other programs and use another smaller screen to display instant messaging, conduct video conferencing, watch videos and slideshows, the 7-inch 800 x 480-pixel resolution LCD connects to your PC via USB. Weighing just 1.3 pounds and measuring 7.0 x 4.6 x 0.25 inches the SideStage should fit easily into a notebook bag and looks smaller than the original ASUS Eee PC 701. Powered by DisplayLink, the SideStage features a video port, analog video, DVI, or FPI (LVDS) on one side and USB connectivity on the other just the USB port and rocks is compatible  with all CRT and flat panel monitors, has standard and widescreen a 16:9  aspect ratio with 32-bit True Color depth for high-quality images. D-Link plans to bring the SideStage to market later in 2009 and will announce pricing at that time.
