At the CTIA Fall conference on Thursday, Jabra announced a new behind-the-ear Bluetooth headset called the Wave, while also spotlighting a new portal to find apps that work with Jabra products. The Wave has similarities to other Jabra headsets in its look, but the company says it will feature “innovative new wind-noise reduction technology and Voice Guidance.” The Wave comes in at a $69.99 price point and will be available in three designs from Verizon Wireless.
For using smart phone applications with the Wave or with other Jabra headsets, the company has launched a new web portal to find these apps. The company calls it Jabra World of Apps and the portal is located at http://apps.jabra.com. Apps such as Vlingo and Slacker Radio are front and center in the portal.
Another product Jabra announced at CTIA is the Jabra Extreme, a headset meant for making calls from a smart phone or on a PC. The $99.99 headset can connect with any smart phone or it can connect with Skype and PC software after plugging in an included USB stick. The Extreme is now available at Best Buy stores around the U.S.
