Commodore 64 Laptop Mixes The Old With The New
April 6th, 2009 by Jeffrey L. Wilson
If you’re an old school computer nerd like many of us at LAPTOP, chances are that you’ve spent the better part of the 1980s with your face focused toward the warm, soothing glow that emanated from the legendary Commodore 64. In fact, I fire up my C64 (yes, I still have it!) from time to time when a solid dose of youthful nostalgia is needed to brighten these complicated times.
As it turns out, I’m not the lone C64 fan that still fires up the beige wonder. In fact, Ben Heck, modder extraordinaire, has combined the old with the new with his latest creation: The Commodore 64 laptop. Instead of booting from floppies, this killer mod job boots from SD cards–very nice. Check out the Ben’s video where he fires up some games, including the classic Golden Axe (seemingly endless load times not included).
