We’ve been lukewarm about smartbooks– the love children of smart phones and netbooks– in the past, but it’s hard to ding one that costs just $85. That’s the story with the Coby NBPC722, a 7-inch smartbook being shows at CeBIT. Its specs– including a 624-MHz Marvell PXA303 processor, Windows CE, and 2GB of flash memory– are modest, but are still good enough for their intended use– namely, Web surfing. And let us reiterate, they’re also totally reasonable for the $85 price. Engadget got some hands-on time with this little guy at CeBIT. You might soon able to, as well: the smartbook is said to ship in the United States this Spring.
