Clearwire/Sprint 4G Alive and Well in NYC
Sprint and Clearwire officially flipped the switch on 4G service in all boroughs of New York City today, bringing super speeds to however many of the 11 million people in the Big Apple have an HTC Evo 4G, Samsung Epic 4G, or a Sprint 3G/4G Modem (all of which received Editors’ Choice awards from us). WiMax data was also added in Tampa, Fla.; Trenton and New Brunswick, N.J.; and Hartford and New Haven, Ct. Clearwire’s speeds are promised to be 10 times faster than 3G, making downloads, video chats, and faster web browsing painless.
On December 1, Los Angeles will be the next city scheduled to get 4G service, followed by San Francisco, Miami, Denver, Cincinnati, Cleveland, and Washington D.C.

Exciting news huh? Have you heard about Rover 4G Internet? It runs on Clear’s 4G network and offers a pay as you go data plan – it’s just $5/day, $20/week or $50 a month for unlimited data. It’s another great option for people in NYC and other new coverage cities who want the benefits of crazy fast AND unlimited Internet but who don’t want to be locked into contracts. Check it out on http://rover.com!
