Casio Green Slim Projectors Go Mercury Free
January 6th, 2010 by Anna Attkisson, LAPTOP Managing Editor Unlike most projectors capable of pumping out 2,000 lumens of brightness, Casio’s new Green Slim line employs the world’s first mercury-free hybrid light source that can generate high-brightness. The company has combined a laser and LED light with a fluorescent element to get between 2,000 and 3,000 lumens. Weighing a mere 5 pounds and measuring a thin 1.7 inches, this portable model will be easy to take with you. Rounding out the features is a wide-angle 2x optical zoom, eight-second cool-down time, 8000:1 contrast ratio, and a light source that lasts nearly 10 times longer than a traditional high-pressure mercury lamp. These models sport USB and HDMI ports, as well as 802.11b/g radios for Wi-Fi connections. Comes with a wireless remote control. Pricing models are yet to be announced.
