Black Friday Smartphone Deals: Contract Free Galaxy S3 for $249, HTC Desire for $179

Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile are offering some noteworthy discounts for budget-minded commitment-phobes. As part of a Black Friday special, select smartphones including the Samsung Galaxy S3, HTC One SV and HTC Desire will be on sale contract free. Deals start after midnight on Nov. 29. 

Boost Mobile’s holiday lineup includes the water-resistant Kyocera Hydro for $59.99, the Galaxy S3 for $339, the BlackBerry Curve for $59.99, the Boost Warp for $159.99, the LG Optimus F7 for $239.99 and the HTC One SV for $219.99.

Virgin Mobile is discounting   the Galaxy S3 for a cheaper $249, the HTC Desire ($179.99), the  PCD Venture ($24.99), the Kyocera Event ($29.99), the Kyocera Rise ($39.99), the Samsung Ring ($74.99), the Samsung Reverb ($99.99), the Samsung Victory ($124.99), the ZTE Supreme ($129.99),the  ZTE Awe ($49.99), the ZTE Reef ($79.99) and LG Optimus F3 ($129.99). You can grab some of these phones for free through standard carriers, but you’ll have to agree to a two-year binding contract. 

Our top picks  would include the previous-gen Samsung flagship, which gets you a roomy 4.8-inch 1280 x 720 resolution display, 4G LTE connectivity, an 8-MP camera and a 1.5-GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 for $250 via Virgin Mobile. The HTC Desire is also one of Virgin Mobile’s newest smartphones, featuring a 4.5-inch qHD display, HTC’s BoomSound speakers and a 5-megapixel camera for $179. Boost Mobile’s discount on the HTC One SV isn’t a bad bargain either, with its long lasting battery life, bright display and attractive soft-touch orange back. It’s important to note that the LG Optimus F3, HTC Desire and Samsung Galaxy S3 will be on sale on Cyber Monday through Virgin Mobile instead of Black Friday.
