BitTorrent App Spotted In Apple’s App Store
October 5th, 2010 by Dana Wollman
Despite Apple’s candid explanation of its App store guidelines, we’re stumped as to how a BitTorrent app won approval. The app, called IS Drive ($4.99), lets users of Imageshack’s torrent service, specifically, download content through the app’s interface. Through the app, they can see downloads in progress, user comments, as well as screenshots of completed downloads.
Aside from the fact that Apple has said it will not sell torrent apps, since they’re often used to infringe copyrights, IS Drive goes after another of Apple’s core businesses– you know, selling you movies, music, and TV shows.
Anyone want to take bets on how long this will remain in the App store before Apple pulls it?
