Top 30 Tablet Apps for Kids
WordWorld: Fun with WordFriends (Ages 2 to 5)
If your child is a fan of the PBS Kids show "WordWorld," they’ll love “WordWorld: Fun with WordFriends.” The app uses the show’s hit characters Dog, Duck, Frog and Pig to teach letters, letter sounds and word families. Kids play games such as word fishing to make words, fetch to build words and windy words to find families of words that start with the same letter. Plus, the more your child plays, the more rewards they earn: Every game played earns a sticker that kids can use to make their own pictures in My Word Space.

Thanks for posting on these great apps, Molly. I think I will check out a few of these after I get home from my shift at DISH later tonight. There’s another app that our toddler loves that’s great for our whole family. It’s called DISH Anywhere, and we use it to stream live TV or DVR recordings to our phones and tablets. Last week I was doing some errands, when my toddler started getting fussy in the back seat. I pulled her favorite episode of Dora the Explorer up on the DVR and handed her the iPad. She was happily entertained until we got home.
