Thanks to its sturdy carbon fiber chassis, the 2.4-pound Sony VAIO Pro 13 is the lightest and thinnest 13-inch notebook with a touch screen. This Ultrabook’s 1080p touch-screen display uses the same technology as Sony’s Bravia TVs to produce rich colors, and sound was impressive for a laptop this thin. The Pro 13 boasts Intel’s 4th generation 1.8-GHz Core i7-4500U Haswell processor, and its 256GB SSD broke our speed record. On its own, the VAIO Pro 13 saw about 7.5 hours on a charge, which doubled when we added the optional sheet battery ($149). While our $2,219 review model is best suited for trust fund babies, the VAIO Pro 13 starts at $1,249, with a Core i5-4200U CPU, 4GB of RAM and a 128GB SSD.
