The process of rooting (gaining full administrative access) to your Android tablet or phone can be a challenge, involving a series of sometimes-complicated steps that vary by device. However, if you’ve taken the plunge, you can not only install a new version of the OS (aka a ROM), but also run a boatload of apps that take advantage of this higher permission level. With the right apps from Google Play, you can overclock your CPU, take video screen shots or even plug a mouse into the tiny microUSB slot on your phone.
This great little app allows you to back up not just your entire device but also specific apps and their app data. Titanium Backup is especially useful when you install a new ROM and don't feel like reinstalling each app you had previously.
You can also automatically schedule backups, move apps to the SD Card to make more room on the internal storage, and sync app data with DropBox or Google Drive. So if you lose your device, you can still get your apps back once you replace it.
