BenQ JoyBook Lite U101 to Immigrate to U.S.

joybookuspictureLast week we posted a full review of the BenQ JoyBook Lite U101 and while we didn’t feel it was the best 10-inch netbook (it received a 2.5 star rating) on the market it does look different from the competition and sports an 16:9 aspect ratio display optimized for watching movies. Those that were nevertheless impressed with the JoyBook and planning on ordering it from overseas will be happy to know that the company will be bringing  the JoyBook Lite to U.S shores. According to BenQ the JoyBook Lite U101 will hit American retailers  this quarter or next for a MSRP of $499.  Similar to our configuration, the U.S. headed JoyBook will sport an 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor, 1GB of RAM and Windows XP Home. Skews will be tailored by the retailer but will have either a 120GB or 160GB hard drive option. There will be a three-cell and six-cell battery options. See a complete listing of the specs below. No word  on where the BenQ will be on sale but we assume many of the popular netbook retailers will pick up the Joy.
