Because They Can: Team Australia Overclocks An MSI Wind
November 25th, 2008 by K. T. Bradford
Some experiments further the cause of science and expand our knowledge of the world. And some people do just because they can. “Because we can” experiments do sometimes lead to discoveries and the expansion of knowledge, but we’re not sure this is going to be one of them. Team Australia took a poor, innocent MSI Wind U100 and overclocked its 1.6GHz Atom N270 CPU to 2.385GHz. This is pretty cool, I admit, but would be much cooler if it could be done without having the guts all over the place and the need for liquid nitrogen to keep the thing cool. Still, it’s an accomplishment… right? Check out the pictures and description here. Hat Tip: Endgaget
