Averatec Debuts Aluminum N3400 for $799

averatecn3400We haven’t heard much from Averatec since they introduced us to their Buddy netbook, but today the company announced its new N3400 notebook, a 13.3-inch aluminum-clad number that tips the scales at 3.8 pounds. Averatec opted to save space in the thin chassis (which tapers from 0.4 inches to .98 inches thick) by eliminating the optical drive. An external USB Super-Multi 8X DL DVD/CD burner is included with the system. Starting at $799, the Averatec N3400 packs a 2.16GHz Intel Pentium Dual Core T3400 processor, 3GB of RAM, a 250GB SATA hard drive, and Bluetooth into a very small package. While it’s not the most original design, we’re looking forward to getting one in the office and putting it through its paces. We’re especially interested to see what kind of battery like the N3400 gets. In the meantime, see below for full specs and images.
