AT&T Samsung Galaxy Rugby Pro Hands-On: An Android Phone that Can Take a Beating

Oct 5, 2012 12:59 AM EDT by Daniel P. Howley, LAPTOP Staff Writer

Nothing’s worse than dropping your new smartphone only to have a shatter on impact. With the Samsung Galaxy Rugby Pro for AT&T, however, you’ll have to do a lot worse than that to put a dent in this beast. Like its predecessor the Rugby Smart, the Rugby Pro features a hard plastic shell that protects it from drops, dust and water damage.

The Pro sports a 4-inch WVGA Super AMOLED display and runs on Android Ice Cream Sandwich. The Pro’s rear-facing camera is a 5-megapixel shooter that can also capture 720p video. This 4G LTE-powered device is not only protected from physical damage, but also comes equipped with device encryption and EAS email support.

Pricing and release information have yet to be announced, so stay tuned for more details as we get them.
