We just posted our review of the ASUS UL80, the 14-inch member of ASUS’s low voltage UL series. At under $850, the notebook is a fantastic value for what you get: over 9 hours of battery life, an overclockable CPU that reaches 1.73-GHz, and switchable graphics chips that give you Nvidia G210M graphics when you need performance and integrated Intel 4500MHD when you need endurance. Throw in an optical drive, a strong set of speakers, and you’ve got yourself a solid multimedia machine you can take on the road.

Strong as it is, the UL80 isn’t without its drawbacks. The screen looks great, but colors wash out at 45 degree angles, the keyboard is a bit mushy, and its 4.8-pound weight isn’t the lightest you’ll find. But if you’re looking for a sleek, entertainment-oriented system with long battery life, this notebook is a winner. Check out our full review of the ASUS UL80 for all the juicy details.
