ASUS UL20A Unboxed, Touched
November 10th, 2009 by Avram Piltch, LAPTOP Online Editorial Director
Our friend Brad Linder of Lilliputing.com has gotten his hands on the new ASUS UL20A, the 12-inch cousin to the ASUS UL30 and ASUS UL80, we like so much. Like its larger relatives, the UL20A has a 1366×768 screen and an Intel
Core 2 Duo SU7300 CPU. Like the UL30, it has integrated Iintel GMA4500 graphics, so Brad believes that performance should be about the same.
Though he’s only had a few hours with it, Brad already has some strong opinions on the UL20A’s keyboard and touchpad, saying that ASUS should have dropped a few extraneous keys to make the keyboard wider. He was also a bit disappointed in the touchpad, which does not appear to support the full range of multitouch gestures offered by the UL30.
The 1366×768 12.1-inch screen, however, is a revelation. “In terms of size, this laptop may be nearly perfect. It’s not dramatically larger than a 10 inch netbook, but the 12.1 inch display is big enough that I don’t have to squint to read text,” he says.

I’d very much like a full review of this laptop…most importantly being the battery life, as it’s stated that it’s a 4400mAh battery. Brad says it’s a 47Whr battery while others say it’s a 63Whr. Thx.

Thanks for your questions Jack. I am considering a laptop purchase, and I am not too knowledgeable when it comes to the technical details. All, I know is about how fast the processor might be or how uch the hard disk and ram might be. Hence, I am want to be sure I buy a reliable machine!
