ASUS Eee PC 1002HA Pops Up on U.S. Retailer Sites
November 30th, 2008 by Joanna Stern
In sync with what ASUS told us, the Eee PC 1002HA is popping up on U.S. retail sites, including ZipZoomFly.com and Buy.com for $499. The retailer sites still say you have to pre-order the 1002HA but we expect them to start shipping soon since ASUS reported the 1002HA will begin shipping in early December and will replace the Eee PC 1000H. The Eee PC 1002HA’s design is a cross between the Eee PC S101 and the Eee PC 1000H and packs a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom processor, 1GB of RAM, and Windows XP Home. It also has a 160GB hard drive and 802.11b/g/n wireless. It seems to have a 2-cell battery, but apparently has enough juice to get over 4 hours of endurance. Stay tuned for our full review in the coming days.

It would be very interesting to see how a 2 cell battery would put out 4 hours. I wonder when or if there will be an extended battery
