Why? ... because sometimes I don't want to run a full OS like Windows or a big Linux Distribution. Today I had a typical situation. I'm at work, starting my Netbook and plugged in my UMTS Stick to check my eMail and start twitter. Just 2 minutes later I had to fight with many applications who tried to auto-update themself. Windwos Update began to run in the background, adobe air dowloaded an update, and my twitter client asked for an update too. Usually I like the auto-update thing because otherwise i'm too lazy and forget to update my sofware from time to time. But when I'm online with my UMTS stick which has just 1gb of free traffic I definately hate it. In such situations I wish I would have something like a splashtop or a cloud os like the one which thinkgos announced some time ago. Just a little OS with a browser to access my webapps and maybe a little messenger where I don't have to take care of the OS and any updates while I'm online via umts.
