Archos Taking Another Shot at Netbooks with 9-Inch Tablet
February 17th, 2009 by Joanna Stern
Just a week after we published the first review of the Archos 10 netbook, the company is announcing that it plans to build out its “MiniPC” lineup. The company will release at least two more netbook like devices based on the Intel Atom processor and the second generation “Moorestown” platform. The company will launch its second netbook, the Archos 10s, in April which will be enclosed in metal casing and will be an “ultra-slim” .7 inches thick. It will also have integrated 3.5G functionality. Other details include the typical Intel Atom processor, Windows XP and 1GB of RAM. Beyond the Archos 10s, the company plans to launch its 9-inch MiniPC Tablet in Q3. The all touch device, we assume will look a lot like an enlarged Archos 7 with a virtual keyboard and handwriting recognition. The 1.8-pound tablet will feature hard drive options (60 to 160GB) and feature the Intel Atom processor Z5xx series. The company is also working with Intel on future MiniPC Tablets or MIDs based on Intel’s next generation platform codenamed Moorestown which is scheduled to launch by 2010.

hi, does any body know if archos 9 tablet pc supports handwriting recognition or not?
i mean writing on screen by a stylus and convert it to a text like what most tablet pc do
also, is it possible to upgrade the windows starter to home premium?
