Apple OS 10.5.6 OS update makes Leopard more stable, compatible and secure
December 15th, 2008 by Kenneth Butler
Earlier today Apple released update 10.5.6 for Mac OS X. The patch includes many a fix to problems that only mildly annoyed users, some that make us look forward to our future with the in-office MacBook, and others that land squarely in the “Eh” category.
Still, improvements are fun and thanks to the now-revised Chess.app, I’ve discovered a new pastime.
Other updates to make you hug your Mac even tighter include:
- Automatic MobileMe syncing that begins within a minute of making changes to your contacts, calenders, or bookmarks.
- Better performance for AT&T 3G cards
- Ratcheted-up DVD player performance
- Boosts AirPort reliability in large wireless networks
- Fixes for fuzzy gaming playback with some ATI graphics card
- Better Mail functionality
- Removal of the iChat bug that boots you if you set your status as “invisible”
Check out Apple for more details.
