Angry Birds Comes To Chrome And The Web
May 11, 2011 01:23 PM EDT by Meghan J. McDonough, LAPTOP Web Producer/Writer Watch out Bejeweled! Those infamous Angry Birds are making the jump to the web using webGL through Chrome. Though the birds have already made a launch to Macs through Apple’s Mac App Store, now everyone with Chrome will be able to play Angry Birds. Though we’re not sure if it’ll be available in a full screen version, the standard definition version demonstrated on stage at Google I/O looks really good.
The game includes special Chrome-only levels, which incorporates controls like the navigation arrows and home button into the levels themselves. Plus, the Mighty Eagle, the ultimate, level-clearing Angry Bird will be available through purchase through the web store.
Additionally, the app will cache locally so that the entire game will be available when you’re offline– such as on a long plane ride. It’s available via the Chrome webstore now.
