Android Prototype Looks Good, Needs Work
April 1st, 2008 by Avram Piltch, LAPTOP Online Editorial Director
We finally got a chance to play with a real honest-to-goodness Android phone. At CTIA, we stumbled upon a prototype that Texas Instruments is showing at its booth. Clearly, the demo unit is not ready for consumers just yet. The device on display was connected through Ethernet, not mobile broadband or Wi-Fi, and the touchscreen wasn’t always responsive. However, we really like the interface and the bundled apps we got to play with. Just have a look at this video.
