Android 3.0 Shown on Video, Now This is a Tablet OS
January 5th, 2011 by Mark Spoonauer, LAPTOP Editor in Chief Welcome to the Honeycomb era. A new YouTube video shows Android 3.0 and its sweet built-for-tablets interface. There’s redesigned home screens with room for multiple widgets, a tab-friendly browser, Google eBooks access, and a tablet-optimized Gmail app with dual-pane view. The video also shows a whole-new YouTube app with a slick-looking video wall, video chat via Google Talk, and 3D Google Maps running buttery smooth. This is what Google was hoping tablet makers would wait for.
The iPad finally has better competition, and Motorola and Android 3.0 should prove a pretty potent combo.
