Android 2.1 Update For Motorola Droid Delayed. Again.

March 18th, 2010 by K. T. Bradford

Cue the weeping. An internal Verizon document obtained by Engadget shows that the Android 2.1 update won’t be happening for Droid owners today despite claims by Verizon reps earlier this week. This confirms the rumblings we heard on Twitter this morning, but that doesn’t make the pain any more bearable. When will Droid owners get the 2.1 update they so crave? Consult some tea leaves, do a star chart or shake a Magic 8 ball. Any answer you come up with is as likely as any other at this point.

Well from what i hear there were minor bugs in the update. Although i ve been waiting on the update, its better they get it right than someone getting the update and be disuppionted. It would be good if they figure out all of them before they gave a release date though.

Verizon’s plan for today was never a mass rollout. They were only going to release the update to 1,000 users for TESTING. According to Verizon, they’re on schedule, and that’s good enough for me.
