AMD No Longer Snubbing Netbooks
November 10th, 2008 by K. T. Bradford
According to this article on APC, chipmaker AMD is looking to challenge Intel’s dominance in the netbook space. Pat Moorhead, AMD’s vice-president of Advanced Marketing, agrees with us that 8 – 9 hours is the sweet spot for netbook battery life. Apparently the new chip is designed to reach that goal, and I can’t complain. Moorhead also feels that the upwards price creep on netbooks is, well, bad. Dirk Meyer, AMD president and CEO claims that they’re looking to “[push] our solutions both down into smaller form factors and lower notebook price point.” Cross your fingers! Details on the chip are expected this week. Via CrunchGear
