wow, laptopmag.com reader, you say i have no life, yet you attack me in a public forum?
No wonder you have no life. write back when you get out of middle school.

I really hope the new update will fix NowNow so that people will stop asking customer service questions. We can't answer them. We can't even tell people we can't answer them. Amazon is dumb for not realizing this. There are 1200 questions in our backlog, most of them Kindle-related, and there's no option to filter or sort, so NowNow questions just don't get answered quickly anymore.

Hey, Fritz the Cat, before you unleash your unhelpful and snide comments, take a minute or two to use search or read current tech news. I will follow your lead by offering an unsolicited observation: the reason you are so miserable is attributable to your lack friends and what anyone would consider a life. My hint is to try to get both, but I don't think it's possible for you. Cheers.

You can download and install it today. I have done so and so have some others on the Amazon Kindle boards. Go to http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=200226050 and follow instructions for a manual install.

No big improvements that I have seen so far. One user called Amazon CS and they gave him a list of upgrades, most seem to involve experimental elements. List is in this thread: http://www.amazon.com/Kindle-1-0-4/forum/FxBVKST06PWP9B/Tx1AUEG3TN059YA/1/ref=cm_cd_ef_tft_tp?%5Fencoding=UTF8&cdAnchor=B000FI73MA&asin=B000FI73MA

Not surprised that the software isn't going out over the air yet. But surprised that Amazon posted the software to http://www.amazon.com/kindlesoftwareupdates for download and that doesn't work....

The note says "release roll out will commence on Friday, February 15th" and you are surprised yours hasn't updated by the posting date of February 14th?

Hmmm, what's wrong with this picture....
Let me give you a hint: Do you understand cardinal numbers?
