Adobe Bends to Apple’s Will with iPad-friendly Software
June 1st, 2010 by Marc Flores
Adobe Flash might be nixed from the iPad and iPhone, and tensions grew high between the software company and Apple CEO Steve Jobs, but it looks like one is bending to the will of the other. Apple recently announced that it sold 2 million iPads in the last two months, and there is no way publishers and a company like Adobe can ignore those figures. Adobe has now revealed its new software InDesign CS5, the software behind Wired Magazine’s new iPad app, for publishers to make iPad-friendly magazines and content.
The software allows publishers to make their content available as a digital viewer, but it’s not available just yet. Wired, who unveiled its iPad app just a few week ago, made headlines with its gorgeous layout and rich features thanks to the Adobe software. Pretty soon, other magazines and publications can follow suit. We’re glad to see that, after being spurned by Apple, Adobe is catering to the iPad crowd and helping in the delivery of rich, interactive content.
