Acer added two notebooks to its business-oriented TravelMate line today, the 15.4-inch 6593 ($1,499)and the 14.1-inch 6493 (starting at $1,099). Both laptops have Intel Centrino 2 specs, including GMA 4500 integrated graphics; Intel vPro technology, which makes it easier for IT managers to remotely manage and secure laptops; and Acer GridVistaT, which lets users view up to 8 windows in an onscreen grid. (Ed. note: sounds a bit like Apple’s Spaces to us.) Both notebooks also work with Acer’s ezDocks II and II, and have a bay into which users can swap a secondary battery, extra hard drive, or an optical drive (you can choose either a DVD-Super Multi or a DVD/CD-RW drive).
