When Dell launched the 5-inch Dell Streak, the company pitched the device as a tablet instead of a phone. Acer’s boasts that it’s new Android device is “100 percent phone and 100 percent tablet”. The 4.8-inch device has a full metal body with wavy patterns and a unique 21:9 aspect ratio with a 1024 x 480-resolution screen. The goal is to provide a PC-like web browsing experience in a pocket-friendly design, and the gadget certainly is narrower than the Streak.

Acer’s smart phone/tablet also features a 1-GHz Snapdragon processor, 8-MP camera in the back, and a 2-MP front camera for video calls. Other features include a six-axis accelerometer for gaming, DLNA for streaming, and Dolby Mobile sound. The device covers connectivity with 802.11n and HSPDA 14.4. Stay tuned for more details.
