I'm a happy 8.9" AA1 owner, but I have to say:

>>>* Phone makers like Nokia are going to lose money if they try to sell netbooks.
Someone should point out this is what all the cellphone makers said about Apple entering the cellphone/smartphone market. "No computer manufacturer is going to just walk into the cellphone market and take it away." Oops...

Someone should also point out to him that Sony Online Entertainment said there was no way Blizzard would "walk into" the MMORPG online gaming market and take it away from SOE. No way. Ooops...

It's folly for a marketer leader to ever say someone from outside the market can't succeed in it. The words always come back to haunt people. :)

>>> * Nvidia Ion doesn’t make sense for netbooks.

I'm sorry to read that. Most people that I can't convince to join me in getting netbooks simply see it as an underpowered machine that can't handle what they want to do on it. I'd think anything (Ion) that at least purports to give netbooks enough graphics power to be more useful would be viewed as a good thing. Unless Acer just loves Intel so much they can't accept competition.

BTW, I love LaptopMag's site/blog and I constantly fellow netbook fans here for news coverage. :)
