Acer Aspire one with a 10-Inch Display Looks Pretty Official
The Acer Aspire one has been one of our favorite netbooks, but its 8.9-inch display makes it so last year. Enter Acer’s 10-inch Aspire one. Posted to the Acer U.K. press site today was the announcement of the updated Acer netbook which holds many of the same specs as the original but has a larger screen and slightly snazzier chassis.
According to the release, the new netbook will weigh 2.5 pounds, pack an Intel Atom processor and a 160GB hard drive, and it can be configured with up to 2GB of RAM. As for connectivity, it has Bluetooth and 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, but it will be offered with WiMAX and 3G options. It will also be available with a six-cell battery, which Acer claims can run 7 hours.
Unsurprisingly, the Aspire one will come Windows XP Home, but oddly there is no mention of a Linpus Lite edition—the easy Linux operating system that came on the original Aspire one.
Left from the release were details on pricing or availability. We will update this post with any additional information we receive on the Aspire one 10 inch.
