Toshiba laptops may be nice, But currently Toshiba is NOT standing by their warranties as bought. I bought a 4 year complete care (system guard) with service express with onsite service 3 years ago and Toshiba is now a) playing who is responsible for service games with Service Net (their service provider and b) NOT standing by the onsite service warranty. I was told I didn’t have to worry about keeping papers, only the laptop’s serial number mattered, everything tracked that way. Now I have to go back and FIND the original warranty papers to prove I have on site warranty? DON’T TRUST TOSHIBA SERVICE, THEY ARE NOT STANDING BEHIND THEIR WARRANTIES AS BOUGHT.
Toshiba laptops are s***! I purchased a brand new one in Sept 2013. Complained in Oct, Nov, Dec, and Jan. I was yelled at by a Toshiba Manager!! He said there was nothing wrong with the laptop, it just had a virus. Laptop freezes, has had factory reset on it once. So disappointed!! So frustrated! was planning on running my business and designing fabric on this laptop. Now I have an $800 piece of s*** with extended warranty that Toshiba will do nothing about. I will tell every media outlet I can DO NOT BUY TOSHIBA!!!!!!
I have a Toshiba p70 a 01q and its the best laptop out there for the money. Its super fast and I like heavier laptops just because they are better built. If you get a virus on a Toshiba laptop you hold down 0 while turning it on and then follow what it says to do a factory reboot. It takes 4 to 6 hours to complete…
i had an HP throughout college and law school. I decided to try a Toshiba to see the difference. I will never ever ever buy another Toshiba product again. It is the worst computer you can imagine getting. It’s too many apps. Not user-friendly at all and is very very complicated. I cannot believe someone got paid to design this thing. I don’t mean to be dramatic but honestly I wouldn’t wish this computer on my worst enemy. I will stick to HP from now on. For sure.

toshiba laptops and customer service is the worst I have ever dealt with. All calls outsourced to other countries and they charge customer for shipping a defective product back to them. They than try to make customer pay for repairs. I bought my first toshiba product this year after many years of HP only because it was cheap. Well you get what you pay for. Do a search on toshiba comments and/or reviews. Wish I had before buying. Many people same story toshiba does everything to keep from making the warrenty right. HP has always had great customer service and products.
T have had a toshiba laptop for about a year. This is the first and last one I will ever had. It has been a horrible experience. I would be writing all day if I were specific about what was wrong with it. I will never by anything from this company again , ever.
Hi I am writing to tell people about my Toshiba laptop experience. I purchased a Toshiba Satellite L745 two years ago and it has been total junk for me. The keyboard needed replacing, the computer won’t shut off, there are battery issues of flashing indicator lights, and in general it runs far, far too slow for what it is (i5 core). I have tried reinstalls and nothing seems to improve the poor performance. Don’t buy one.
DO NOT BUY TOSHIBA!! Agreeing with Kristi Ryan who has commented below, it is a constant crasher, its slow, all sorts of odd things happen that are just not usual and especially not accpetable. I bought mine a month ago from Currys (who also have a bad reputation) and its basically a nightmare and no where near worth the £399 I paid for it, and the after service – on the first day there were errors listed to the extent of 1402! Toshiba used to be great, now they are one inch away from the trash can.
BEWARE-My wife has a Toshiba laptop and purchased a unit for Christmas a few years ago. Both of us had to shut down the auto update feature as we ended up fighting through issues every time an update took place and most times we had to perform a system restore for the units to operate properly again. I have spoken to co-workers who also have Toshibas and they have all commented they have had the same issues. I recently tried updating my browser and it brought the computer to its knees. It was taking hours for it to respond and execute commands. Again I had to do a system restore which took the better part of a day just to get it to launch. Based on my experiences and that of my co-workers I have talked to, if you are buying a unit and plan of keeping up with updates and upgrades, I recommend look at another brand. My 12 year old tower unit hasn’t given me as much trouble as my Toshiba laptop has in two years.
DO NOT BUY TOSHIBA LAPTOP! I am NEVER EVER buying anything by Toshiba, or should I say Toshita, EVER AGAIN. The laptop I have is a piece of sh*t. I’ve tried everything on the planet to hook it to my home wifi and it still doesn’t. It freezes and everything, and they’re customer service is nothing to write home about. A waste of money!!
Thinking of purchasing a Toshiba Laptop…..think again. My Toshiba is only 6 months old and cost me over $400. The screen on my computer is not responding correctly and is giving me a black dot that just keeps growing in size and although still under warranty, I have been told that this is an Out-of-Warranty issue and I will need to pay out of pocket to fix it. Oh did I mention that the out of pocket cost will be about $400 plus the shipping and handling that I will need to pay in order to have the computer shipped back and forth. So for a 6 month old computer in order to fix a problem which I did not cause, it will cost me about the same amount of money, if not more, than the computer itself.
Horrible Toshiba customer service and no way to email corporate. The website is all garbage self help. Two laptops have failed miserably. Lots of information about their CEOs and “commitment” to customer service which is nonsense. Never, never again. They should care. There are far too many negative comments about Toshiba laptops and how they fail miserably in the last few years. Walk away.
