Today, Apple updated its 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro with a thinner and lighter design that includes a new Haswell processor and longer battery life. However, one of our favorite new features is the lower price of $1,299, starting today.
Apple also announced a new and improved 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display. The big brother will get a beefier Intel 4th generation, quad-core Core i7 processor and optional Nvidia graphics for $1,999, also starting today. Both new machines will come with OS X Mavericks preloaded, and both price points are $200 less than previous generations.
The 13-inch MacBook Pro promises 9 hours of battery life. It will ship with 4GB of memory, Intel’s most advanced Iris graphics and a 128GB SSD with PCIe technology for faster speeds. At 3.46 pounds and 0.71 inches thin, this model is slimmer and lighter than the previous 13-inch MacBook Pro.
The new 15-inch MacBook Pro will offer double the RAM at 8GB. The insides sport a 2.0-GHz CPU paired with a 256GB SSD. Shoppers can choose integrated Iris graphics or get Nvidia GeForce GT 750M discrete graphics. Apple touts a battery life of 8 hours for the 15-inch.
