10 Gifts for the Geek Who Has Everything
USB Wall Socket: Newer Technology Power2U
Your phone, tablet, your Wi-Fi hotspot, your media player and even your charger all charge over USB. Yet, when you want to plug these devices into an outlet, you need to dig out a series of heavy, easy-to-lose AC adapters. However, with a USB faceplate kit like the $24.95 Newer Technology Power2U, the geeks on your list can upgrade any of their outlets to include two powered USB ports next to the two three-pronged outlets.

These are all great gift ideas, but I went a different direction for my Geek who has everything. I initially didn’t know what to get my son; I thought he already had every gadget known to man. Thankfully, one of my coworkers at DISH gave me the idea of getting a DISH Sling Adapter. Once I connect that to my DISH Hopper DVR, my son will be able to stream any live program or any recorded program from our DVR to his phone. He is a big pop culture TV and Movie buff, so I know he will love being able to access that stuff at any time.

About the keyboard, if the one receiving the gift is a gamer, don’t buy him/her a Unicomp Ultra Classic (it is not good for gaming since it can’t detect more than 2 key presses at the same time, it is great for typing though). A great keyboard for gaming and typing is a RK-9100 with Cherry Blue switches, or a Razer BlackWidow 2013 with Cherry Blue Switches. A great keyboard for skill-based games (but not so good for typing) is a Corsair Vengeance K60 with Cherry Red Switches.
