10 Gifts for the Geek Who Has Everything
3D Printer: MakerBot Replicator 2
Most serious geeks don’t do a lot of printing. We have tablets and phones with us all the time so why waste the paper? 3D Printing, on the other hand, is a whole other ball of plastic. With a 3D Printer like the MakerBot Replicator 2 ($2,199) your geek can take 3D models from the computer and “print” them out as colorful plastic models. What self-respecting geek wouldn’t want to do that?

These are all great gift ideas, but I went a different direction for my Geek who has everything. I initially didn’t know what to get my son; I thought he already had every gadget known to man. Thankfully, one of my coworkers at DISH gave me the idea of getting a DISH Sling Adapter. Once I connect that to my DISH Hopper DVR, my son will be able to stream any live program or any recorded program from our DVR to his phone. He is a big pop culture TV and Movie buff, so I know he will love being able to access that stuff at any time.

About the keyboard, if the one receiving the gift is a gamer, don’t buy him/her a Unicomp Ultra Classic (it is not good for gaming since it can’t detect more than 2 key presses at the same time, it is great for typing though). A great keyboard for gaming and typing is a RK-9100 with Cherry Blue switches, or a Razer BlackWidow 2013 with Cherry Blue Switches. A great keyboard for skill-based games (but not so good for typing) is a Corsair Vengeance K60 with Cherry Red Switches.
