When it first came out last fall, the Kindle Fire really got us hot under the collar with its low $199 price, powerful dual-core CPU and colorful 7-inch screen. But as the months have gone by, our passion for this slate has been snuffed out by competing products. Today, the Google Nexus 7 provides a full Android experience and a higher resolution for the same price as the Fire, but fortunately for Fire fans, it appears the company has something new up its sleeve.
According to a number of credible sources, including Staples CEO Demos Parneros, Amazon appears poised to offer a number of new tablets, including a 10-inch model. Undoubtedly, these new Kindle Fires will also have higher resolution screens and snappier performance. We can also hope that they will have cameras and an improved UI.
With the holiday season fast approaching, Amazon should announce its new products no later than the end of Q3. Do you really want to be the person rocking the low-res 2011-era Kindle Fire when you could have had something so much better if you had only waited a few months?
